There is no love in the court
Sheren Tang recalled when <War and Beauty> aired, there was a social phenomenon reaction. She says, "Having been in the entertainment business so long, I haven't been so popular. Even <SCMP> I have been the year's more influential women. Good thing that time I had faith, I understood where my ability and strength came from. I even more understood that a better understanding of public education. 
The princess was a very special character. "I analyzed that in one scene I was killing someone, and this is the power that viewers loved her for? Or was it because the reasons she had, so they pitied her?" "This character's inner heart is actually filled with goodness and kindness. But because of the environment, it has become like today in offices where people are forced to respond. They are many people who are good but forced to play a bad character."

She onced had faith is life, thinking how the life would be in the court. She also tried to add in some acting skills that she had never tried before. "When filming, I kept thinking how the princess has no love in the court. How would she become in the future? Once she reaches to the top, how would it be then?"
"Even tough the drama was in the Qing Dynasty, but people need to have love. But if the king patronize you, and not really love you, then hen you find a white hair you would become very scared. There would be no security in this world? This is being reflected in my heart, trying to chase after real good beauty."


Especially high when bullying others. 
"From this role, it made me remember all the times I had in the States when I was upgrading myself. An artiste's life should be represented in their productions."
At this character with one person below, and 10,000 people above, Sheren Tang used a crazy way to portray it. "For example, when I had the power, I would be very high. It felt great when I was bullying other people but still cannot offset the lack of love." I think that when an artiste's life has rich and depth, the angle of observation would not be superficial.

Four Grandmother, and Gau Goo Leung are hero type's of character
The character of Four Grandmother(499) led Sheren Tang into another high point of her acting character. "Her character has selfless love, for the nation and the people. I am just a normal citizen, so how can this be so sentiment? Thankful I am a Christian, and can put this love into 499's character, making me let go and act."


Until <No Regrets>'s character Gau Goo Leung, made her understand. This person has the ability to help other characters and people. "This character is even harder to portray, but I am prepared to see God. Because she uses one to two years, helping me pull the torn from my heart. I think he really wanted me to live in Christ, thats why he came up with this hero character."


Gau Goo Leung is not a normal character. "She is a bright minded and has great ambition character. Even my personal experiences aren't enough." Jacqueline understands Sheren's extraordinary happiness, whether it is acting or life, but all the things entrusted to Lord. "People think you are that personality, but actually you leave everything to God!" Sheren Tang strongly agrees and says, "Yes ah! Before I was super hardworking, and sometimes disappointed. But now I will give everything to Go, and I will have no pressure, and very happy!"

Jacqueline's Interview with Sheren - Chapter3

「My face can look so ugly！」 Sheren tang recalled the time she played a supoorting guest in <Healing Hands>, and she had to portray a girl who had bone cancer, and had to wear a really disgusting wig, while having no make-up on. That time I looked at the mirror, and kept saying to myself, "Sheren Tang, don't think you are a pretty women! As long as you change your hair style, you can become really ugly!"

That time I had alot of reminders to myself, and understanding that being an artiste, you need to have all the beautiful packaging to be considered a pretty women. As long as you don't wear make-up, you can be this ugly! Extended to Sheren's love life, "When I am proud to choose my boyfriend, and dislike others, but actually when they open their eyes and can see that I am that ugly!"

When she was in the States upgrading herself, she dressed herself with no make-up. When going to class she had to change a couple times, and everyday she marks down how much she spent. It was a simple life, and now she just realizes herself pushing herself forward and loosing herself. I will not think of these things. 

Since she no longer counts on being beautiful, and understands that love is not based on this.

A single gift? When talking about love again, Jacqueline spills more secrets about Sheren. She is now single right now and doesn't have a boyfriend, so that is why you say it like that. That is why we have to pray for you slowly, so in the future you can find the right one!" Jacqueline also says, "I really hope to know how your future boyfriend will look like!" Sheren laughs and says, "These few days I was trying on a old women look. I want to give these different looks to the future one and see if he is okay!"

Sheren Tang who won two times in a row for "TV Queen" actually was scared for acting before. She honestly said that the time she filmed <War and Beauty>, the pressure and stress she had to face. "I never filmed the court drama before, and never filmed such a thoughtful and treacherous character with powerful strengths before. My lines were also classical and had 6 to 7pages long!"

New artiste's faces all the same
Sheren Tang does not agree that young people should not have too heavy of makeup. Because they are young singers, they pay too much attention to their packaging. I cannot even recognize them anymore, because all of them wear the "Big eyes", stick on long thick eyelashes. No matter if they are singers or artiste, their faces are all the same."
I think that artistes doesn't need to be bold, but to be unique. "Artistes need to have their own style and temperament, or they will be replaced easily." Jacqueline says, "For newcomers, how can they be unique?"


Once loved Sandy Lam's single eyelid
Sheren tang thought, "Last chapter, you said I had big eyes... but actually for a period of time, I really liked Sandy Lam's single eyelid. Her eyes are very unique, and when she puts on makeup she has this special type of taste." She thinks that everyone should show off their own unique quality, "As long as you accept yourself, be able to play your strengths, then you have the personality and temperament."


She thinks that girls with "Big eyes" are, "You do not even accept yourself, or you don't like yourself with small eyes. You keep using ways to make your eyes bigger, but then your eyes wouldn't be the real you. Even if you hate yourself, makeup is the only way to make this matter even more unhappy."


Jacqueline agrees, and thinks that the image isn't just appearing in the entertainment circle, but in society. "I once talked with young girls who were from the 80s, and they said they were 100% lonely, and couldn't find themselves. Actually, having confidence is beauty. They grew to be very beautiful but couldn't accept the inners self." 


Studied in the States because of low self-esteem
In 1992, Sheren Tang went to US to upgrade herself. Jacqueline wants to know if it was because Sheren had low self-esteem that time, or because she wanted to give up her career? Sheren Tang admitted her guilt, "That time I was in the entertainment circle for 7years. The first 5years was with TVB, the 6th year I left, because I suddenly lost a sense of security. Artiste's work life is very passive, and have to wait for opportunities. And also I thought I didn't have the material, and no one that time understood my low self-esteem feeling."


Reborn from going back to HK from the States.
After returning to Hk, Sheren Tang filmed《Loving　You》which received great comments. She thinks that these comments have to be related to her going to the States to upgrade herself. "In the US I studied art, and not only did I learn knowledge, but I also got in touch with art." 
"And every summer vacation, christmas holiday, I would go back to TVB and film for tuition money. The first time I was a supporting character in a drama was 《生死頌》. The character is an unpretty grocer, that made me different. I no longer have the burden of an artiste".


After performing resuscitation of life, she began to respect the art and work with actors, the former every time when the main character, she came to realize that regardless of the protagonist or the supporting performances to be bold: "This makes me very into the movie from this, Yiling the audience changed, is a big The breakthrough is a major turning point in my.

Beauty is natural, Ying is personality
Jacqueline Law and Sheren Tang are good sisters, but she doesn't know how Sheren got into the entertainment circle! She thought that she was from the artiste training program, and graduated there! Sheren explained that, "I was from the Artiste training class, it was for a short training period. It was seperated into two months class, two months exams, and I was getting paid for it!"
She honestly said that she thought that she wasn't pretty. "I like to look special, but not the splendid type. I think that beauty comes when you were born, and "ying" is a type of personality."
Jacqueline said, "Actually, I think you are very pretty. She have really big eyes, deep double eyelids and you have beautiful eyelashes even when you don't have to use mascara." Sheren laighed and said, "People say that having long eyelashes are very lazy people!"

When joining the training classes, she felt far from being beautiful, "The training classes had Maggie Shiu and Limei Xian! They were really pretty, and their face was already slimer than mine!" 
Jacqueline leaked out Sheren's nickname, "Your nickname is "Big Head Man!". Sheren responded, "Yes ah. My head is especially big, and I have to wear male caps, like Michael Miu's!"

Previously misunderstood as Tom Boy
When Sheren Tang was in high school, she never dressed much like a girl. She said, "When I was in an all girls school, my hair use to be very short like a Tom Boy style. People mistaken me as a tom boy before!"


She said, "That time I loved to play sports(with a ball), and liked "Flat chests". I thought having a flat chest, not being so tall would be beautiful. I also liked to have wrinkles, wanting the small asian eyes having those wrinkles."
